Ph.D. Position #P2 / Energy management systems, operational control

We are seeking a motivated Ph.D. student to join the Community Energy Solutions (CES) Project, a four-year collaboration between Concordia University and Toronto Metropolitan University. The project is led by Prof. Ursula Eicker, the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Communities and Cities. The position is part of the Volt-Age Research Initiative, aimed at electrifying Canada's society.

Project overview

The CES project focuses on designing zero-emission energy solutions for municipalities. Collaborating with governments, industry, and international stakeholders, we will analyze 15+ case studies across Canada, the US, and Europe to create "neighbourhood archetypes" based on density, income, building usage, and transportation needs. Using cutting-edge digital twin platforms and tools, we aim to develop scalable, community-driven energy strategies.
