ARTH 354 Studies in Interdisciplinarity in the Visual Arts: Radical Animisms

  • Thursdays, 11:45 am-2:30 pm
  • Instructor: Dr. Andrew Forster

The course investigates the nature of nature. How do works of art and related human practices investigate, articulate and reintegrate us into nature. How should one re-speak or re-articulate the idea of outside or nature that we [what we?] have so long imagined as an ideal other space to be recovered. Does nature belong inside or outside our idea of nature? This is not a question of images and their fallibility but the ways we can allow things to be. The way we gather nature is both our access point and our stumbling place. It is our crisis.
