More trees coming to Loyola Campus this summer
Expanded greenery builds on last fall’s major effort
June 25, 2025

As part of Concordia’s ongoing efforts to enhance biodiversity and campus green space, 36 new trees will be planted on the Loyola Campus this season.
This smaller round of planting follows the large-scale initiative completed in fall 2024, which saw more than 1,400 trees added to the site.
Most of the new additions will be planted along West Broadway Street, Bellemore Avenue and interior roadways to help reduce the heat island effect. Work is expected to begin Monday, July 7, and wrap up by Friday, July 11, weather permitting.
