EV and FB buildings to close overnight April 30 to May 1 for water shutdown

The Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV) and the Faubourg (FB) Building will be closed from Thursday, April 30 at 11 p.m. to Friday, May 1 at 7 a.m. due to a planned interruption of the domestic water supply.

This interruption is required to support work by the City of Montreal on its water infrastructure along Ste. Catherine Street West.

During this shutdown:

• Both buildings will be fully closed, with no access permitted to students, faculty, staff or visitors.
• Domestic water service will be unavailable in the EV Building. Washrooms, sinks and kitchenettes will be out of service.
• Access will be controlled at the EV Building’s Ste. Catherine Street West entrance, and only authorized individuals will be permitted to enter.
• The Guy-De Maisonneuve (GM) Building will remain accessible via the EV entrance.
• Parking in the FB Building will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Access will be permitted to retrieve vehicles.

Following the interruption, water service will be restored. If discoloured water is observed, users are advised to let the water run until it clears.

The scheduled work may be delayed due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Normal operations will resume once water service has been restored and all systems have been verified.
