Video: Joseph Siddiqi takes his painting and drawing courses online
This summer, he taught PTNG 300 and PTNG 400/450 online for the first time. It required some big adjustments, but he says the experience was really positive. In this video about his online experience, Siddiqi talks about the challenges, opportunities and surprises he and his students encountered learning and teaching online.
“If you're considering doing your art course online, it's very possible,” says Siddiqi. “You have to be creative. You have to work with the facilities that you have, the resources that you have.”
Siddiqi is sanguine about the fall term and the possibilities of learning to become an artist in the midst of a global pandemic.
“You're in a situation where the only reason to make the art is for your own wellbeing. What kind of art will you make?”
All classes in the Painting and Drawing program will be taught online in the fall term. Visit the Department of Studio Arts to learn more about the program and how the department is teaching online this fall.
