On May 2, 2012, eight lucky employees were informed by Concordia’s Human Resources department that they were the winners of the draw for prizes having completed the employment equity workforce survey. Ibrahim Aly, associate professor, accountancy, won the grand prize — an iPad2.

The remaining winners are:

  • Kirsten Huhn, head librarian: 8 GB iPod touch
  • Estelle Bouthillier, document analyst, office of the president: 8 GB iPod Nano 6G
  • Brigitte St-Laurent-Tadeo, director, advocacy and support services: iPod shuffle 4g
  • Danielle Pullen, admission counsellor, John Molson School of Business, iPod shuffle 4g
  • Gavin Taylor, associate professor, history, and undergraduate program director: iPod shuffle 4g
  • Lynn Roy, communications advisor, Faculty of Arts and Science/University Communications Services: iPod shuffle 4g
  • Amin Aghdami, team lead, computer analyst, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science: iPod shuffle 4g

“We are extremely grateful for the outstanding participation in this survey,” said Carolina Willsher, associate vice-president, Human Resources. “More than 800 employees have responded to the survey since the launch of our campaign.”

The winners were randomly selected from the list of employees who completed the survey by May 1, 2012.

Although the draw is now closed, the university is still short of the required target to meet government obligations. Therefore, employees who have not yet responded to the survey are being asked to do so.

How to access the survey:

  • Go to MyConcordia and enter your netname and password
  • Go to Employee Self Service and click on MyHR Profile to access my empath
  • Click on my empath and scroll down to the employment equity link
  • Click on employment equity, then click on the workforce survey link
  • Scroll over employment equity to open, then click on modify (above your name) to complete the survey

Employees who choose not to complete the survey are asked to click on the button “I do not wish to complete this questionnaire.” This is a valid response and will be tabulated amongst the survey results.
