Ste. Catherine Street West roadwork to resume near Concordia mid-January
The City of Montreal’s Ste. Catherine Street West infrastructure renewal project will resume in mid-January, following a winter break that began in November.
Although an exact restart date has not yet been confirmed, community members should anticipate a return to construction activity near the Sir George Williams Campus early in 2026.
Sidewalks along Ste. Catherine Street West will remain accessible throughout this phase of the work. Pedestrians will continue to have a safe, clearly marked route between the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV) and the Faubourg (FB) Building.
When work recommences in January, the city will issue updated information on new closures, detours and delivery and loading zones. Concordia will share these details as soon as they become available.
The broader project will continue through 2030, with phased work planned on water, sewer and gas mains between Peel and St. Marc streets, as well as along Guy Street between Ste. Catherine Street West and René-Lévesque Boulevard.
