- Photojournalist Barbara Davidson (BFA,photography, film), featured in Le Journal de Montréal, tells the paper that she learned her craft while working for Concordia's The Link and for the McGill Daily at a time when she says there were no university programs focused on photojournalism.
- Recent Concordia graduate Andréanne Abbondanza Bergeron (BFA '07, MA in art education '10, MFA '16) receives the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Fellowship in Contemporary Art award. The $60,500 award for emerging artists was presented to her on Friday by the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Family Foundation. The award was announced in a CNW release (picked up by the Edmonton Journal and Canadian Insider) and reported in Journal Métro. UQÀM TV posts video of Abbondanza Bergeron discussing her installation art work and of Claudine and Stephen Bronfman explaining their involvement as patrons of the arts.
- Le Journal de Montréal writes that Concordia Stingers football alumnus Mark Montreuil is one of only three Quebecers from the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) to have been drafted in the NFL (in 1995).
- Public and Jacksonville.com pick up an earlier release announcing the appointment of Lina Roti to the board of directors of Immunotec Inc.
- Recent Concordia graduate Alex Tyrrell (BSc,. environment science) announces that he will run for the Green Party in this month's Quebec by-election in the Montreal riding of Gouin: CNW/Telbec, picked up by Le Lézard.
- Computer engineer Nicolas Vicenzo (BEng, '11) talks to CBC.ca about his life on the autism spectrum.
