Research Assistant Position Available in Philosophy
I am looking for up to two research assistants for a SSHRC-funded project on the epistemic-moral significance of social identity. The part of the project I am working on now focuses on developing an analysis of views that are beyond the pale of engagement.
The position runs 12 weeks (September 15 – December 8), corresponding roughly with the length of the Fall 2025 semester. The appointment will be for 8 hours a week, and paid at $35/hour (plus standard CREW benefits).
There may be an option of renewing the position for the Winter 2026 term, depending on my research needs and your performance quality during the Fall term.
Tasks will include one or more of the following:
o Compiling bibliographies
o Summarizing readings
o Group discussion of readings
o Participating in brainstorming sessions
o Assisting with manuscript preparation
Applicants should have a strong interest in and familiarity with the theoretical methods and style of contemporary analytic philosophy, and commitment to learning how to conduct philosophical research. Ideally, applicants should have some background in ethics, epistemology, and/or social philosophy. Editorial skills are also an asset to this position.
To apply, please email me (anna.brinkerhoff@concordia.ca) by Friday September 5 with a brief explanation of why you would like to have this RA position and why you think you are a good fit. Please include: your research interests, what stage in the program you are at, and any relevant coursework that you have.
