Solar Energy Group - New Lab Equipment

We're happy to report that the Solar Energy Conversion Group and the Centre for NanoScience Research has recently acquired a CEM Discover 2.0 microwave synthesizer. Following a demo period the microwave found a permanent home in our shared lab. To date the microwave has been used to successfully prepare carbon dots, semiconductor nanocrystals, and molecular complexes for solar fuels generation. Many of these projects are being driven by undergraduate researchers who are being exposed to this technology (outside of their home kitchen) for the first time.
