The Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance (CSLP) congratulates Brad Nelson, member of our Executive Committee as Theme 1.3 Representative (Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Learning), on his recent appointment as deputy provost and vice-provost, student life and experience at Concordia University.
A long-time faculty member in Concordia’s Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics, Brad has been deeply engaged in advancing interdisciplinary collaboration across the university and the CSLP. In 2024, he organized the Disinformation: Creation, Dissemination and Pedagogical Responses conference, held at Concordia’s 4th Space with support from the Centre. The event gathered educators and researchers from across Canada to explore critical and pedagogical approaches to combatting misinformation in education.
In addition to serving as department chair, Brad has held several other key leadership roles at Concordia. He was graduate program director of the Individualized Program, associate dean of the School of Graduate Studies from 2013 to 2021—where he oversaw student affairs and postdoctoral studies—and acting vice-dean in the Faculty of Arts and Science in fall 2024.
