Ever wanted a front-row seat in the world of healthcare?
For a decade, ScribeCanada has employed pre health students and graduates as medical scribes to work alongside physicians in emergency department, family medicine and psychiatry settings to help address the growing problem of physician burnout. The medical scribe shadows physicians and are responsible for documenting the entire patient encounter into the electronic medical record allowing the physician to focus on what is most important, the Patient.
Becoming a medical scribe is an excellent way to gain meaningful, clinical experience without having any previous experience. Scribes observe patient encounters in real time, develop a strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical decision-making, and build professional skills that translate directly to medical, physician assistant, nursing and other health professional programs. The role not only strengthens graduate school applications but also provides valuable insight into the day-to-day realities of healthcare, helping you confirm and clarify your career goals.
Start your healthcare career today! Come learn more about our opportunities on Wednesday March 25th, 2026 in the Communication Studies and Journalism Building atrium!
