Join us at Concordia University's 4TH SPACE for Talking Shop, a live podcast recording from the Department of Marketing at the John Molson School of Business.

What does it really take to build a successful career and company even when you don’t have all the answers?

In this conversation, entrepreneur and Spin Master co-founder Ronnen Harary shares the story of his unconventional path, from his early experiences and first ventures to building global brands including PAW Patrol. We’ll explore uncertainty, failure, risk, timing and luck, why your 20s can be such an important period for experimentation, and how to recognize opportunities before they become obvious.

We’ll also talk about his book, No Experience Required, and the idea at its heart: you don’t necessarily need to have all the answers before you get started.

Hosted by Richard Sejean, marketer and lecturer at John Molson School of Business.

Speakers

Ronnen Harary

Ronnen Harary is an entrepreneur, executive producer, and the Co-Founder and Chairman of Spin Master, a global leader in children’s toys and entertainment.

Harary co-founded Spin Master at age 23, less than a year out of university. What began as a single-product venture built from the ground up grew into a global entertainment powerhouse with an iconic portfolio of brands including PAW Patrol, Bakugan, Rubik’s Cube, and Toca Boca.

Drawing from his entrepreneurial journey and his recently launched book, No Experience Necessary: Why Betting Yourself in Your Twenties Is the Best Decision You'll Ever Make, Harary speaks to audiences on taking calculated risks, building high-performing teams, learning through failure, and cultivating a culture of innovation. His journey offers aspiring entrepreneurs, emerging professionals, and leaders actionable insights on approaching opportunities with curiosity, conviction, and the confidence to build before feeling fully prepared.
