Start your Winter term with a clear, well-organized Moodle course and the confidence to use Moodle’s most important tools effectively. This hands-on workshop blends a short refresher on course setup with a practical walkthrough of the three features faculty rely on most at the start of term: quizzes, grading workflows, and basic course organization.

Whether you're new to Moodle or looking to refine your course setup, you'll leave with concrete strategies, example workflows, and guided support to help you build or improve your actual Winter course site.

After the main session, participants are invited to stay for an optional guided “boot-camp” period, where CTL and IITS technologists will be available to answer individual questions and support you directly on your course.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Set up and organize a Moodle course to support clear, student-centred navigation.
  • Create and configure a basic quiz, and identify key settings that affect security, timing, and grading.
  • Use essential gradebook tools to build a clear and functional grading workflow.
  • Apply practical Moodle workflows that save time and reduce confusion for students in the first weeks of class.
  • (Optional boot-camp) Work directly on their Winter course with guided technical and pedagogical support.
