Learn how to integrate mindfulness into your everyday life through a short lunch-time practice! The 30-minute practice will by led by student facilitators from Concordia's Mindful Campus Team and facilitators from the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, Canada’s leading centre for mindfulness training.
Sessions will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and can be joined either online or in-person in EV 2-776.
No prior experience with mindfulness is required, and all are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!
These sessions are hosted collaboratively by the Mindful Campus Initiative and the The Contemplative Pedagogy initiative.
Tuesday sessions will be hosted by student facilitators from Concordia's Mindful Campus team.
Thursday sessions will be facilitated by Pawan Kaur Singh, a registered social worker and mental health therapist with training in trauma. She has been working for over a decade with individuals and groups in the mental health field, as well as practicing mindfulness personally for the past 25 years. Pawan trained in facilitation of the Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management (MBCPMTM) course in 2015 and, more recently, in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Brown University, USA. She started working with the Centre for Mindfulness in Toronto in September 2023. Currently, Pawan works at the Family Counselling Centre in Sarnia, Ontario and offers mindfulness courses and psychotherapy in private practice.
The Contemplative Pedagogies Initiative, offered by the Centre for Teaching and Learning, includes a variety of workshops, activities, and resources on contemplative pedagogy for Concordians in order to re-energize our teaching and learning community during this time of constant change. The Mindful Campus Initiative is a new program at Concordia to support post-secondary students pursuing a creative education.
