...and the Cosmos returns to claim its place

In the Main Space, Tina Lam presents ...and the Cosmos returns to claim its place. Humanity has long looked to the cosmos for inspiration and mystery. One such mystery is neutrinos, subatomic “ghost particles” that pass through our bodies undetected. Exploring our entanglement with the unknown, Lam ventures into natural environments to create land-art interventions using black cinefoil. Hand-molded from trees and boulders, these sculptural shells return the darkness of the cosmos to the gallery.

Join us in company of the artist for the opening reception on March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The exhibition will be presented in the Main Space until May 22.

Dans l'espace principal, Tina Lam présente …et le Cosmos revient réclamer sa place. Depuis des millénaires, l’humanité tourne son regard vers le cosmos comme source d’inspiration, d’émerveillement et de mystère. Parmi ces mystères, les neutrinos, des « particules fantômes » presque indétectables, et pourtant cent mille milliards d’entre elles traversent nos corps chaque seconde. Poursuivant son exploration de l’enchevêtrement de l’humanité avec l’inconnu et le plus-qu’humain, Lam réalise des interventions de land art à l’aide de film d’aluminium noir, ou cinefoil. Modelé à la main sur des arbres et des rochers puis ramené en galerie sous forme de coquilles sculpturales et fantomatiques, le cinefoil rend les surfaces à l’obscurité silencieuse du cosmos.
