A discussion on Bill 32, a bill which blurs the lines between academic freedom and freedom of expression, and its social implications for academics in Quebec. Will the rights and responsibilities that come with expertise lose their importance in society and culture?

Although there are different angles to this issue, we have decided to focus our interest on the impact that Bill 32 will have on the future of Quebec universities. Our goal is to steer the discussion in a more liberal direction, giving a voice to people who disagree with the bill, and choosing to focus on the perspective of faculty members and students who are most impacted by Bill 32.

With special guest speakers:

  • Nicolas Renaud: assistant professor in Indigenous studies
  • Celeste Trianon: trans-rights advocate and legal clinic operator
  • Amaria Phillips: co-founder of the Black Student Union at Concordia, and host of the Build your Faith podcast

Food and drinks will be provided!
