The Azrieli Institute is pleased to offer a postdoctoral fellowship in the amount of $30,000. The competition for 2020-21 is currently suspended.
In order to apply, applicants must submit a completed application form together with a current curriculum vitae and three letters of academic reference. Applicants must demonstrate their scholarship in Israel Studies and must have their PhD completed at the time they take up the postdoctoral fellowship. In order to be eligible, applicants must have received their PhD within the last five years from the time of the application and may not have held a full-time teaching or research position with the exception of a previous post-doctoral fellowship. Decisions about the applications are made by the Awards Committee of the Institute, which is chaired by the Director.
Application period for 2020-21 is currently suspended.
Visiting Scholar positions are available for a one semester stay. Successful applicants will receive a research stipend of 10,000 CAD for one semester. For periods shorter than one semester, a pro-rated stipend will be provided. The Institute does not provide travel or accommodation allowances in addition to the stipend.
Visiting Researchers are expected to partake in the intellectual life of the Institute by offering
- one public event aimed at a general audience, such as the broader university community and/or the community at large;
- a research seminar for faculty and graduate students in the Visiting Scholar's areas of specialization; and
- by contributing to the Institute Occasional Paper series. Teaching opportunities may be available in consultation with the Department of the Visiting Researcher's specialization.
