Responsibilities 2020–22

  1. identifying and developing support mechanisms and resources for Black full- and part-time faculty members, including best practices with respect to recruiting, hiring; career advancement including tenure and promotion; and recognition of the additional emotional labour of Black faculty
  2. researching best practices at other Canadian universities in encouraging recruitment, support for Black faculty, initiatives related to funding, post-doc invitations, research chairs, visiting professors, etc.
  3. working with librarians to identify possibilities of diversifying Concordia’s library

Linda Dyer
Professor and Chair, Department of Management, John Molson School of Business

Linda Dyer is a professor of Management at the John Molson School of Business. Her research centers on small business management, with a focus on interactions between the owners of small firms and their employees, as well as the study of how owner-managers work with professional business advisors. A second stream of research is diversity in organizations, specifically regarding age, ethnic, and gender diversity. She teaches Research Methods and Pedagogy, and she has served in roles such as university senator, department chair, graduate program director, grievance officer for the faculty association, and negotiator of the faculty collective agreement.

Roch Glitho [SM] holds a PhD. (Tekn. Dr.) in tele-informatics (Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden), and M.Sc. degrees in business economics (University of Grenoble, France), pure mathematics (University of Geneva, Switzerland), and computer science (University of Geneva). He is a Full Professor of Networking and Telecommunications at the Concordia Institute of Information Systems Engineering - CIISE where he holds the Ericsson / ENCQOR-5G Senior Industrial Research Chair in Cloud and Edge Computing for 5G and Beyond. He also holds the Canada Research Chair in End-User Services Engineering for Communications Networks. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Western Cape (South Africa) and the Institut de Mathématiques et Sciences Physiques (IMSP), University of Abomey-Calavi (Republic of Benin). He previously worked in industry for almost a quarter of a century and has held several senior technical positions at LM Ericsson in Sweden and Canada (e.g., expert, principal engineer, senior specialist). In the past, he has also served as IEEE Communications Society distinguished lecturer, Editor-In-Chief of IEEE Communications Magazine and Editor-In-Chief of IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials.
