Concordia named a Montréal Top Employer for 11th consecutive year

The recognition highlights the university’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive, forward-looking workplace

Concordia has again been named as one of Montreal’s Top Employers by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. It marks the 11th year in a row that the university has been celebrated for its leadership in creating an exceptional workplace.

“Being named one of Montreal’s Top Employers is a meaningful recognition of our commitment to making Concordia a great place to work and of our contribution as an anglophone university in the city,” says Carolina Willsher, associate vice-president of human resources

Supporting employees at every stage

Concordia continues to stand out for its ongoing efforts to foster a workplace culture grounded in flexibility and continuous learning. From onboarding and professional development to retirement planning, employees are supported throughout their careers.

“Ongoing development is about creating opportunities that support both current roles and future goals, so employees can continue to grow in ways that are meaningful to them,” says Anna Michetti, executive director of employment and organizational development.

The university offers tuition subsidies to employees for courses directly and indirectly related to their positions, along with a wide range of in-house professional development programs. Options include apprenticeships, leadership programs and support for professional accreditation.

“These opportunities not only strengthen employees’ skill sets but support their ability to remain agile in a rapidly evolving environment,” Michetti says.

Benefits and policies that make a difference

The university was also recognized for its exceptional family friendly benefits, including top-up parental leaves.

“We take pride in the comprehensive family friendly benefits, which are designed to ensure employees can care for their families without compromising their well-being or careers,” says Jean-Sébastien Senécal, director of compensation, benefits and pension.

Employees benefit from flexible work arrangements and generous vacation provisions, underscoring a commitment to sustainable workplace practices. In addition, eligible employees can take advantage of hybrid arrangements, flexible schedules, compressed or shortened work weeks and reduced summer hours.

“Through it all, Concordia continues to put its people first, making room for well-being, encouraging both personal and professional growth, and investing in their futures,” Willsher says.
