UNITY
UNITY is an integrated information system for Human Resources (HR), Financial, and Procurement services at Concordia.
For example, with UNITY, employees can view their pay statements and vacation balances, submit expense clains and purchase requisitions, and access their training all in one place. Managers can recruit and guide the onboarding of new staff, view their team's structure, and electronically approve their employees' time sheets, expense claims and other requests.
Core solutions of this ecosystem are SAP, an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) that integrates people, data and technology through 6 different solutions:
- S/4 HANA – Core solution to manage finance and payroll
- SuccessFactors – Talent management system where all employee data is managed throughout the employment lifecycle
- Workforce Software – Time management solutions for timesheet submission and time off requests
- Sodales Solutions – Software visibility on seniority, to manage grievance and complaints as well as environmental health and safety
- Concur – Streamlined solution to submit and manage expense reimbursement claims
- Ariba – Source-to-pay software solution to manage procurement from initial purchase to invoice payment

Project UNITY is implementing an ERP, an enterprise resource management system: data is at the core of this system and a major consideration for the project.
The UNITY team is working on the best way to approach data in the new system and the old system. Be reassured that the primary focus is to ensure you have access to the data you need to continue to support Concordia community as we go through this transformation.

Concur includes a feature where you can take a picture of your receipts with your phone and attach them to the expense claim. You can upload electronic receipts to a folder where you can attach them to individual expense claims.
Alumni wouldn’t have access if they hadn’t worked at the university. UNITY will be accessible by Concordia employees and pensioners. Concordia students will continue to access the Student Information System (SIS). This system is for employees, past employees, and our pensioners. If they were a student, they would just do what they need to do in the SIS system. If they were also working at the university at one point, then yes, they would have access to our system.
Yes. FRIS integrates with the new system. We will automate the hiring of parttime faculty and teaching assistants as well as processing all the stipends and contracts that are issued in FRIS.
Yes. All Concordia employees will have access to the system.
The system has strong security. Every employee has access to their own employee files. Their managers can see pertinent information. Personal and sensitive information, like social insurance numbers, are only available to specific members of HR, in alignment with a detailed data access strategy. People are limited to access only those applications necessary for their role in the system.
Unity is an employee system and does not integrate with student information such as grades, courses, etc. The Concordia Carrefour is offered as a one-stop hub for an integrated experience. If you happen to be a student, you will be able to visit Carrefour to access your employee and student information.
