ABOUT Green-SEAM
The NSERC Green Surface Engineering for Advanced Manufacturing Strategic Network facilitates collaborative research by leading Canadian researchers and their industry and government partners.
The Network supports key Canadian economic sectors that generate high value jobs and are export intensive, including advanced manufacturing in aerospace, automotive, natural resources industries and renewable energy.
This five-year Network program will:
- Build pan-Canadian collaborations involving surface engineering disciplines between Canada’s industrial partners and university laboratories.
- Pioneer the development of methodologies that ensure environmentally responsible practices and solutions by the entire Canadian coating and surface engineering community.
- Develop a model of research and collaboration for other industry sectors.
A strong focus on student researchers supervised by university, industry and government experts, will prepare the next generation of surface engineers and scientists to incorporate "green thinking" throughout their careers.
