About Us
The Building Envelope and Building Performance research group at Concordia University conducts research on high-performance, low-carbon and climate-resilient buildings. Current activities include wind-driven rain loads, building envelope performance, bio-based materials, building-integrated photovoltaic/thermal systems, and resilient buildings for cold, northern and remote regions.
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support multidisciplinary research on high-performance and climate-resilient building systems.
The successful candidate will contribute to research activities including:
- hygrothermal performance and durability of building materials and envelope systems;
- bio-based and low-carbon building materials;
- modelling of BIPV/T systems and their integration with HVAC and building energy systems;
- climate-resilient and high-performance buildings;
- experimental data analysis and numerical modelling;
- preparation of research reports, journal publications and research proposals;
- technical guidance and mentoring of graduate students; and
- coordination of research activities with academic, industrial, government and other non-academic partners.
Qualifications
- PhD in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Research experience in building science, building envelopes, building energy systems, or related areas.
- Experience with experimental research and/or numerical modelling and simulation.
- Strong analytical, technical writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research projects.
- Experience with research proposal preparation, graduate student mentoring, or coordination with external partners is an asset.
