Indigenous peoples

  • 2% of Concordia students self-identified as an Indigenous person in Canada which is a lower proportion than in the Canadian population (5%), but in line with the Quebec population (2%).
  • In addition, among those students who self-identified as an Indigenous person in Canada, respondents mostly self-identified with First Nations communities (64%). The remainder of the respondents identified as Métis (25%) and Inuit (8%).
