Reminder — Windows 11 upgrade starts October 27

October 28, 2025
|

Upgrades to eligible Concordia desktop and laptop computers from Windows 10 to Windows 11 will start on October 27 and will end in May of 2026.

Why is this upgrade happening?

Microsoft support for Windows 10 has ended. Concordia will provide Extended Security Updates (ESU) for affected devices while we complete upgrades or replace older hardware.

What can I expect from Windows 11 when I am upgraded?

The biggest change you will see in Windows 11 is the user interface. The Start Menu and Taskbar will be revamped, and shortcuts/buttons may appear in slightly different places as well as new ones being added. Overall, the Windows functionality is still the same. Programs you have been using such as Outlook, Word, and Excel will not change when run on Windows 11.

After the upgrade is complete, you may notice the following:

  • Desktop backgrounds may return to default settings.
  • You may need to re-sign into Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Pop-up messages may appear stating older hardware drivers have been disabled. While not critical, please let us know.
