LB/Hall Buildings: Elevator pit barricade installation - October 16, 2026 (08:00 - 16:00)

To the users and occupants of the LB and Hall building,

A planned interruption of the LB and HALL Elevators is SCHEDULED for Friday, 2026-10-16, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00. The Installation of barricades in the elevator hoist way pits are required for new RBQ code compliance.

• S- LB / Webster Library Building

Order of execution:

• S-H ELEV 1 – Passenger ELEV with access to S1 (Access to theater and Metro level)
• S-LB ELEV 2-3 – 2 Passenger ELEVs in S-LB Lobby
• S-LB ELEV 5-6 – 2 Passenger ELEVs Library

General Information
 

• This interruption will cause noise to be produced when the barricades are anchored in.
• Elevator interruptions will last approximately 1-2 hours per bank.
• During the Installation of S-H ELEV 1, there will be no elevator access to S1 and the metro level while the installation is underway.
• During the Installation of S-LB ELEV 2-3 BANK, only passenger ELEV1 from lobby & Freight from loading dock ELEV8/FREIGHT, will access the upper floors while the installation is underway.
• During the Installation of S-LB ELEV 5-6 BANK, there will only be stair access from floors 2-5 within the library, and ELEV8/FREIGHT, while the installation is underway.
