PY Building: Installation of temporary fencing, and door protection structures - September 28-30 (07:00 - 15:00)

To the users and occupants of the PY building,

A planned installation of temporary fencing, and door protection structures is scheduled to begin early next week. The SCHEDULED dates are Monday, 2026-09-28, Tuesday, 2026-09-29 and Wednesday, 2026-09-30 all three days between the hours of 07:00 and 15:00.  The work will consist of installing fencing in the interior courtyard and around the building entrances to restrict access to areas along the building walls, as well as overhead protection (scaffold-type canopies) at all main entrances and emergency exits. This installation is required in the context of project 22-007 PY replace roof.

These measures are preventive. They are being installed ahead of the roof replacement project, currently under study, to protect building users from potential falling debris from the aging roof. There is no immediate risk. Operations has already started securing these areas: caution tape is currently in place to mark the zones that are not accessible.

General Information

• All exterior doors, including emergency exits, will remain accessible throughout the work.
• Work at the main entrances will be done early in the morning to minimize impacts on pedestrian traffic.
• All work is exterior. No impact on indoor activities or services is expected.
• Pedestrian circulation will be maintained at all times. Please follow posted signage around work zones.
• Fenced areas are restricted. Please do not enter or move the fences.
