Changing time twice a year - its impact and its future
With the province of British Columbia announcing it will remain permanently on daylight savings time, the practice of setting clocks back and forward twice a year is being questioned once again. Much of the rest of Canada will be setting clocks an hour forward this coming Sunday, March 8.
Experts at Concordia University can comment on the disruptive effects of time changes on sleep patterns and overall health.
Thien Thanh Dang Vu is a neurologist and professor in the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and holds a Research Chair in Sleep, Neuroimaging and Cognitive Health.
