On Monday, April 10, Concordia will be testing the emergency messages on the fire alarm panels of several buildings across both Sir George Williams Campus and Loyola Campus. Please refer to the list below to check impacted buildings.

During testing, the following emergency messages will be played in sequence over the P.A. system:

  • Evacuation message
  • False alarm message
  • Investigation message
  • Power failure message
  • Police Operation message

While the messages will include information about a police operation and evacuation, no action is required of you during this time. Please be assured that this is a routine test and there is no need to panic.

Building occupants will be advised 5 minutes before each test begins and all messages will begin with “this is a test.”

While the testing may be inconvenient, please keep in mind that this is an important precaution to maintain the safety of our community. This type of testing is necessary to ensure our fire panels are functional, well maintained and up to date to protect everyone's lives and assets.

While this is a test, why not take this opportunity to consider what you would do in an emergency? Campus Safety and Prevention Services offers a variety of resources for emergency procedures.
