'The focus is on making the most of a virtual moment for graduates'

Due to current circumstances, Concordia is suspending in-person spring convocation ceremonies planned for June 10, 11 and 15. Rescheduling these events is not possible at this time owing to the City of Montreal's announced prohibition of large events through to the fall. Convocation is an important tradition at Concordia and I know this is a disappointment in what is already a very challenging time.

We have a team working on a virtual celebration during the month of June, something that offers our graduating students a way of marking this important milestone and sharing the moment with family, friends and all members of the Concordia community.

We will continue to monitor and evaluate what is possible in the months ahead for in-person gatherings, but, for now, the focus is on making the most of a virtual moment for graduates in these very exceptional times. More information will follow on the virtual celebration, but, in the interim, please see our convocation and graduation FAQs for more information.

Until then stay well, stay safe.

Anne Whitelaw
Interim Provost and Vice-President Academic
