Bishop Street and Faubourg Building entrance closures

Beginning May 7, Bishop Street renovations for the development of the Zone Éducation-Culture will resume with the construction of new steps to the Hall Building Terrace.

During this time, the Concordia community will be able to access the terrace from the Mackay Street entrance. Construction on the terrace is expected to be complete by May 28.

From May 28 to July 8, Bishop Street will close between de Maisonneuve Boulevard and Sherbrooke Street. Access will be granted for local circulation only. Street parking services will not be available during this time.

A complete closure will take place from May 28 to June 11, during which time access to the Hall Building loading dock will be inaccessible. Sidewalk circulation to the Hall Building and Bishop Street annexes will remain open.  

The renovations being undertaken by the City of Montreal are being done to bring this area in line with the rest of Quartier Concordia. Changes have included the enlargement of sidewalks, the addition of benches and trees, a drop-off area for cars, as well as new light fixtures and a new membrane for the Hall building foundation wall on Bishop.
 

Faubourg building entrance closure

Scheduled construction of the first and second floors of the Faubourg Building (FB) is scheduled to commence on Thursday, May 3 and continue until August 2018.

Access will be limited on these floors during this time. Occupants of the building can expect an increase in construction-related traffic and increased noise levels.

Loud and disruptive work has been scheduled outside of regular work hours. Please note that from Monday, May 7, until the end of August, the west entrance to the Faubour Building at 1600 St. Catherine Street West will not be accessible.

During this tme, please use the entrance at 1250 Guy Street.
