- Alumnus Hardeep Grewal, who captured extensive media attention last week with the announcement of a $1-million gift to Concordia to endow scholarships at the John Molson School of Business, writes a letter to the editor in today's Globe and Mail. Grewal, who credits his Concordia education for his rise to riches as a Subway Restaurants franchise developer, calls on Canadians to help fund their institutions of higher learning to, in his words, "stop liking their universities and start loving them".
- Grewal is featured in a separate piece in Le Journal de Montréal. The article describes Grewal's progression from a Concordia business student who drove a cab to pay his bills to a highly successful restaurant franchise developer. The Journal de Montréal piece concludes with an interview of Grewal, who talks about his motivation and the life-lessons he has learned. Grewal's success story and generosity are also reported by South Asian Link and The Indian Diaspora.
- Valsoft co-founder and vice president Stephane Manos (BEng) is interviewed for Tech Vibes.
- Writer and journalist Jesse Brady (MA, English literature) is profiled in Sudbury.com.
- Le Devoir writes about the musical group Plants and Animals in a feature article that says band member Nicolas Basque studied music at Concordia. Basque and fellow-alumni Warren Spicer and Matthew Woodley formed their band after meeting at Concordia.
