- News media stories abound of a grateful Concordia alumnus who is paying it forward in grand style: Hardeep Grewal (BComm, '83), who immigrated to Canada in the 1970's with barely more than $7 in his pocket and went on to become a major player in the restaurant ownership and management industry in the United States and in Ontario, has donated $1-million to Concordia to endow MBA scholarships at the John Molson School of Business. President Alan Shepard and Vice-President, Advancement and External Relations, Bram Freedman are quoted in numerous news accounts of Grewal's gift to his alma mater and of the inspiration JMSB and other Concordia students may find in his remarkable success story. Learn about it from the Montreal Gazette, Gazette e-edition, CBC.ca Le Journal de Montréal, TVANouvelles.ca, CJAD.com, WDRB (Kentucky), KLTV-ABC(Texas), WFMJ-NBC (Ohio), Darpan Magazine and My Informs. The Grewal story is also told in a CNW release, picked up by the MontrealGazette, National Post, The Province, PRNewswire, Shaw Connect, TD Waterhouse, Yahoo! Finance, Troy Media, TorontoTV.org, The Canadian Association of Journalists, Canadian Business Spotlight, The Canadian Business Journal, Chicago Business Journal, Cincinnati Business Courier, Boston Business Journal, Albany Business Review, Albuquerque Business First, Baltimore Business Journal, Buffalo Business First, Charlotte Business Journal, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Birmingham Business Journal, Austin Business Journal, Web Lens, Mad Hunt Sys-Con Media and more than a dozen others.
