- The Montreal Gazette publishes an op-ed written by Eliza Baynes, a graduate of the Department of Communication Studies, about ending violence against women.
- As part of the Beat Nation: Art, Hip Hop and Aboriginal Culture exhibit at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, a symposium was held on December 5, titled The Culture Makers: Conversations on Art and Cultural Adaptation. Before It’s News posts a video with three of the panel participants, including Inuk electronic artist, music producer and DJ, Geronimo Inutiq, who studied in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
