The John Molson School of Business celebrated the achievements of nine individuals at the annual Dean’s Awards ceremony that took place on December 4.

The awards were established in 2008 to recognize exceptional faculty members for their scholarly and teaching achievements, as well as staff who have distinguished themselves in the area of support service.

JMSB Dean Steve Harvey presided over the ceremony and handed out the awards to this year’s recipients:

Distinguished Scholarship

  • Navneet Vidyarthi – Emerging Scholar Award
  • Alexandra Dawson – Mid-Scholar Award
  • Isabelle Dostaler – Established Scholar Award

Teaching Excellence

  • Tara Ramsaran – Full-time Graduate
  • Larry Jacobson – Part-time

Staff Recognition

  • Amanda Holt
  • Marie Lyster
  • Sandra Romanini
  • Arlene Segal

Harvey described how each of the winners contributed to the school’s collective success and mentioned areas in which the faculty has excelled over the course of the last year. Notably, JMSB was featured, for the very first time, in Bloomberg Businessweek’s “Best Business Schools” MBA rankings. The John Molson MBA was ranked 20th in the world among international programs.

The dean also used the ceremony as an opportunity to welcome JMSB’s newest staff and faculty members and he acknowledged the individuals who were recently honoured by Concordia for having reached key milestones in their years of service to the university.
