On November 24, students from Concordia’s John Molson School of Business (JMSB) returned from two case competitions having reached the podium six times.
A delegation from JMSB won the overall prize at the 2014 HR Symposium hosted at Université du Québec à Rimouski. Over 300 students from eight Quebec universities, and one from Ontario, competed at the weekend-long human resources-focused affair.
The victory, which included podium finishes in four different categories, marked JMSB’s first overall win of the competition season. HEC Montréal and ESG Montréal (UQAM) finished second and third respectively.
That same weekend, another competition delegation won second place overall at the annual Brock University Accounting Conference (BUAC). JMSB has participated in this competition five times and reached the podium every time.
“I would like to thank all of the competitors and coaches Aaron Dresner, Chris Labrecque and Frank Crooks for their hard work and dedication,” says Head Coach and Advisor to the Competition Program, Mark Haber. “A particular thanks goes to our HR Symposium coordinator, Thomas Delvaux Lefebvre, for his leadership during the competition.”
