JMSB Dean Steve Harvey announced that Alexandra Dawson from the Department of Management has been appointed director of the Concordia Small Business Consulting Bureau.

Dawson has been at Concordia since 2009 and her research focus has been on entrepreneurial businesses. “Alexandra is perfect fit for this role,” says Harvey. “Her knowledge and expertise in the areas of family business and entrepreneurship financing will make her a tremendous resource for our student consultants.”

Dawson replaces Bakr Ibrahim, who founded the bureau and has managed it since its inception. “I would like to thank Bakr for his many years of dedicated service to this important JMSB initiative,” says Harvey. “His vision in founding the bureau exemplifies the notion that a complete business education involves activities that take students beyond the classroom and put them into real life business situations.”
