Call for the 2025-26 Jorisch Family Artist Residency now open

The award provides support for a four (4) week summer residency in the Amalie Redlich Tower of the Museum der Moderne (MdMS) in Salzburg, Austria, and a financial award valued at $10,000.

The Museum provides a studio and living space in the Tower, including cleaning services, tickets for the elevator and for the museum, as well as general production support by the MdMS team. Eligible expenses include production costs, airfare to Salzburg, per diem, local transportation, travel and accommodation for research purposes, course fees, and tickets to festivals and exhibitions.

Applications are open to full-time graduate students in the Faculty of Fine Arts with a studio-based research-creation practice, including the MFA Studio Arts and MDes, as well as the MA/PhD Individualized Program (INDI) and the Interdisciplinary Humanities PhD Program (HUMA), with a primary supervisor in the Faculty of Fine Arts. 

Evaluation Criteria and Application Form

Evaluation criteria include: quality of record; quality of portfolio; quality, feasibility, and site-specificity of proposal; how the proposal demonstrates consideration of the host institution’s capacities. Applications received will be reviewed by the Fine Arts Faculty Research Committee (FRC). The selected candidate must be able to take up the award in Summer 2026.
