Alumnae nominated for new art award

Four of the five artists nominated for the new Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) Contemporary Art Award have links to Concordia: part-time faculty member Thérèse Mastroiacovo (MFA 99), and alumnae Emmanuelle Léonard (BFA 98), Valerie Kolakis (BFA 90) and Diane Morin (MFA 03).

Recently established by the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and its Fondation and the RBC Foundation, this new biennial award, will honour an mid-career artist with a cash prize of $10,000, a solo exhibition at the Musée, a retrospective publication and the acquisition of works by the winning artist for the MNBAQ collection, with a value up to $50,000.

The winner of the inaugural award will in early 2014.
