Manon De Pauw, both an alumna and an instructor in Studio Arts, has won a 2012 Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award from the Canada Council for the Arts. The awards, worth $15,000 a piece, recognize outstanding mid-career artists in seven disciplines; De Pauw won in the Inter-Arts category.

De Pauw's work, which has been shown nationally and internationally, incorporates photography, video, installation, performance, audio art, and both new and older technologies. Her first exhibition in France, Manon de Pauw. Intrigues, is currently on at the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris. It closes September 8. De Pauw was a finalist for the prestigious 2011 Sobey Art Award.
