Oct 26: The Future of the Past: The Jewish Public Library of Montreal, 1914-2014
This one-day conference will honour the centennial of the Jewish Public Library of Montreal. The JPL has served the Montreal community for a century as a library, intellectual centre and cultural magnet in Yiddish, Hebrew, English, French, and Russian. Distinguished scholars will trace its role in the intellectual and cultural history and future of Montreal, Quebec and Canada.
