We are very proud to announce that Camille Harrigan, multi-scholarship winner and MA student in Canadian Irish Studies, won the Emerging Scholar award at the American Conference for Irish Studies West in Santa Fe, New Mexico this past weekend.  Camille's paper "Colonized Bodies: The Discursive Use of Women’s Bodies in Ireland and North America" was a sophisticated exploration of the female body as symbol of 'terra nullius' and justification for colonial sovereignty.  The theme of the conference was "Ireland and the Indigenous".  Congratulations, Camille!
