PhD candidate Samia Dumais and Dr. Peter Gossage contribute to peer-reviewed discussion

Dr. Peter Gossage and PhD candidate Samia Dumais have contributed to a peer-reviewed discussion of Joy Parr's landmark book, The Gender of Breadwinners (UTP 1990), which has just appeared in the June 2026 issue of the Canadian Historical Review.

Along with Nancy Janovicek, Sarah Carter, and Magda Farhni, Peter and Samia 'reflect on the impact of Joy Parr's The Gender of Breadwinners on their own research and on the field of Canadian history.... [They] discuss the theoretical and methodological innovations that Parr brought to the historical analysis of waged work, domesticity, migration, labour processes, gender and class identities, and community relations.’
