Join us on November 5, 2026, for a hands-on workshop led by PhD student Oriana Confente.

Explore the poetic intersection of ecology, natural light, and early photographic history in Autumn Light, a camera-less photography workshop. Grounded in 19th-century photographic traditions, this 90-minute workshop invites participants to slow down and record the organic forms, textures, and silhouettes of seasonal flora.

As one of the most direct ways to capture nature’s impression, lumen printing relies solely on light-sensitive silver gelatin paper, moisture, and direct sunlight. This session explores light and botany through chemical-free photography, by leveraging the natural reaction between plant matter and photo paper, participants will reveal nuanced color tones and delicate botanical structures without darkroom developers.

To mirror the impermanence of the medium, the prints will remain unfixed, allowing them to continuously adapt and change as time passes.

No prior photography or printmaking experience is required.

Space is limited to 10 spots, so please make sure you register to attend.
