In celebration of Muslim Awareness Week, Islamic History Month, and Peace Days Montreal, the Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics at Concordia University, Queen's University's Muslim Societies and Global Perspectives Research Centre, and the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Centre in Oman have co organized a conference featuring three speakers:
Associate Professor Adnan Husain from Queen's University will speak about the social and cultural significance of Muslim dress in Medieval Iberia; Professor Brad Nelson from Concordia will talk about the literary representation of Muslim/Morisco cultures in early modern Spanish literature; and Kathleen Ridolfo wil present contemporary issues related to Muslim dress.
