This year’s MICROTALKS are coming as a pair!

TAG (Technoculture, Art and Games) will be hosting the first of two sessions of MICROTALKS on May 17 in our cosy online space on gather.town, with the second taking place on May 24. To keep online fatigue to the minimum, four members will be sharing their works during each session in the shape of super fast pecha-kucha style presentations.

Join us and get up to date on the research TAG members have been conducting this year. Speakers featured in this first session will talk about a wide variety of topics including, but not exclusive to: board-game creation, the anti-capitalist indie scene, romantic tandem gameplay, game preservation, and much more.

Speakers

JoDee Allen: Creating the Dream Room: Imagination & Telematics in Live Performance
This talk is about designing the digital space for the live performance, Dream Room.

Hanine El Mir: Making/Meat/Matter: A Tabletop Role-Playing Game
Making/Meat/Matter is a multimodal ethnographic project that will hopefully end with a table-top RPG about meat consumption, food production chains, and their impact on our lives and environment.

Scott DeJong: Gaming Conspiracy Theory: Board game as model and method
This talk will discuss a year long endeavour to create a board game with studies analogies of misleading content online.

Olivier Charbonneau: Preserving games on the scholarly record
How could an academic library preserve games made or studied by researchers for future generations?
