In the past few months, the President’s Task Force on Anti-Black Racism and the Black Perspectives Office (BPO) have received many requests from the Concordia community on how to best support their work and address anti-Black racism from their respective positions.

In response to these requests, the task force has developed a workshop on Allyship as Practice.

Join the BPO for a staff and faculty workshop on using allyship as a personal and institutional practice and tool to understand and address anti-Black systemic and interpersonal racism.

Register to reserve your space by emailing ptfabr@concordia.ca.

About the workshop

Participants will learn what it means to activate the continuous practice of allyship, recognize their position and personal investment in this practice, as well as understand the common barriers and misconceptions around the practice of allyship.

While many understand and define racism as overt verbal and physical abuse, the session will help participants understand and identify the modern face of anti-Black racism, its evolving nature and ability to hide in plain sight within institutional walls.
