In the Black Box and Ste-Catherine, Abi Hodson presents Peep Show: Parallel loops, Porous lines. Motion-responsive video reveal limbs merging with materials that construct and reconstruct Montréal’s body. Construction materials and site footage are recontextualized through the visual language of the peep show, shifting the promise of construction into an erotic register that opens space for the emergence of an unknown something-else.

The exhibition will be presented in the Black Box and Ste-Catherine Vitrine until May 22.

Dans la Boîte noire et la vitrine Ste-Catherine, Abi Hodson présente Peep Show: Parallel loops, Porous lines. Des judas et une vidéo réactive au mouvement révèlent des sites où des membres se fondent aux matériaux qui construisent et reconstruisent continuellement le corps de Montréal. Le chantier se superpose au corps humain, formant une parenté trouble où les systèmes de contrôle, de valeur et de normativité convergent et se fissurent. Les matériaux de construction et les images du chantier sont recontextualisés à travers le langage visuel du voyeurisme, déplaçant construction et reconstruction vers un registre érotique et ouvrant un espace où quelque chose d’autre, d’inconnu, peut émerger.
