Towards Trans Joy and Justice is a conference organized by a trans and non-binary student cohort based out of Concordia University, in partnership with the Center for Gender Advocacy, the Simone de Beauvoir Institute, Teesri Duniya Theater and the Dark Opacities Lab.
On June 8, 2025, the one-day hybrid conference will convene trans organizers, academics, community members, activists, cultural workers and allies from within Montreal and across Canada to foreground trans theories of joy, thriving and resistance. As we confront a new wave of transphobia and a growing climate of fear, we hope this gathering will facilitate bridge building between different community organizers, academics and artists, and foster a space of skill-building, networking, learning and exchange.
