Drawing on over 40 years of public opinion data, this presentation from Andrew Parkin of the Environics Institute will review how Canadians' attitudes towards immigration have evolved both over the longer term, and over the past few years.
The discussion will differentiate between opinions about the immigration system, about the economic impact of immigration, and about the contributions of immigrants to Canadian culture and society.
Special attention will be paid to regional differences, including the question of whether and in what ways the views of Quebecers differ from those of other Canadians.
Please note the presentation will be in English, but the discussion will be bilingual.
